Depasa is a private group of companies which was founded in 1978 and started its activities in Nigeria in 1985.

Depasa has developed itself into a company which inhibits great expertise on the marine and port industry of Nigeria. As such Depasa is well equipped to offer its clients comprehensive specialist solutions and services in the fields of port and marine activities management.

Since the start of the activities in Nigeria Depasa has become one of the leading companies active in the Nigerian Maritime industry and has managed to increase its range of customers and activities. Depasa has established partnerships with local companies (e.g. a joint participation in Continental shipyard with NPA) for the purpose of being able to render a full-service business solution to Depasa's clients. For the last twenty five years Depasa has among others been rendering maintenance and operational services to the Nigerian Ports Authority.

The main activities of Depasa in Nigeria are:

• Manning and maintaining of different types of fleets;
• Training of Marine officers;
• Coordination of shipbuilding and ship repair activities;
• Marine Operation Management.

All activities in Nigeria are coordinated by the Depasa office in Abuja. From here two operational bases (located in Lagos and Port Harcourt) are being coordinated. In Nigeria Depasa employs approximately 150 Nigerians who possess a wide variety of expert knowledge. Besides that Depasa employs a few dozen ex-patriates stemming from different marine working fields. Depasa has permanently stationed two tugboats in the ports of Nigeria.
